Can anyone offer any help as regards car setup for a wet race at Imola.
I qualified on pole in the dry but in the wet warm up I cant get within 3
seconds of the other cars.  So far, I have increased the wing by 10 - 15
points from my dry settings and tried lengthning my gear ratios to try and
cut down on the whel spin and snap oversteer when accelerating out of
acque minerale for example.

I have been playing this game for years but still never managed to be
competitive in the wet :)

I have the same problem. I think it is a poor implementation of wet
conditions on the computer drivers. I use F1ED.EXE to alter the
opposition grip settings so I get a more even race. Not much you can
do beyond that.

Chris,
Wasn't Robert saying he was having trouble winning while it sounds like
you are having trouble losing?

I played once in the wet at Monaco. All I could do was BLOCKING. Of course
I qualified on the pole, but I managed to finish 2nd in the wet going 100%
race distance. Boy, that was the most demanding race I've ever driven in
F1GP! If it wasn't at Monaco, I doubt I could block all those cars!

Besides blocking, I guess the strategy is to setup a understeering car. If
you are brave enough, you can setup a neutral car. An oversteering car is
guaranteed a spin. Also, don't believe that more wings will give you better
grip, it will only slow you down on the straights. The wings don't help
much in the corners since all cars are going slower in the corners, that
means less downforce. Brake bias doesn't matter that much since you want
to brake to the appropriate speed before you make a turn in.

The problem is that the computer drivers dont get traction tire spin
in the wet, while the human drivers do...so yes, you are correct
in poor implemention of wet conditions for the computer drivers.
