I had reinstalled the game and was going into practice sessions which
resulted in no sounds from the other cars. Once I went to the race, I heard
the sounds and it seems to have fixed the problem because I can hear the
cars in ALL game modes now. <sigh>...all that damn reinstalling for nothing!
:-)
Anyway, I really hope that patch comes out soon and addresses the AI
problem. Granted, they seem to be getting better at the tracks I race with
often, but they are still very inconsistent. I always hold my breath while I
try to make a clean passing attempt or outbrake them into a corner. I won't
even mention the dreaded punt from behind that has put me out of many races,
even when I brake waaaay late. Oh well, at least I love almost everything
else about this sim. Which makes the AI problems all the more frustrating...

Uh, speaking of F1RC bugs, for laughs I ought to post the reply I got from
Ubisoft tech support in response to my particular problem.
On the other hand, if you've had any occasion to email Ubisoft tech support
. . . regarding any game . . . and any problem . . . for the last couple of
years (I'd guess) . . . and no matter what info was in the body of your
message or attached to it . . . why, you've probably already seen their
response, LOL!
