Make sure that app.ini in your gpl folder is not set to read-only.
Do you see your selected resolution in
gpl\players\<your_player_name>\player.ini?

It's set to archive.

I want to run it at 800 x 600, and that's what it says it's et to in the
player.ini file.

I also noticed that at all time the car had all four wheels in contact
with the ground, and was facing in the direction of travel.

I'm damned if it looks like that when I play.  Bug?

Toughy this one.. did you redownload the d3d patch from Papy lately? A
couple of months ago a new d3d patch was released by papy, allthough
there no notification of this on their site afaik. They simply
replaced the old d3d zipfile with the new one.
Perhaps you had the older version on your HD?

Otherwise.. I can't think of another solution I'm affraid.. In all the
cases someone had this problem, there was something wrong with the
core.ini file..

BTW, with my core.ini installed, the ff still doesn't work?
In that case it's clearly that GPL for some reason can not find the
correct core.ini file.. you put the core.ini in your sierra\gpl folder
right?

I used the one from theuspits.com . I'll re-download it and try again.

Yes. It's right there in the main directory.

Also make sure you rename it from core.ini.sample to just core.ini
