I was wondering what percentage of performance I might see with my games? I
play sports and racing games mostly. I also have 128k of RAM, V3 3000. I
have an ASUS P2B motherboard and I think it tops out at the 600 mark.
Thanks in advance.

I dont think you will see a noticeable enough improvement to justify
the cost of upgrading from a 400 to 600. Your best to wait until
closer to the end of the year. By then the 800-850 will come down in
price and THEN you will see an improvement for the cost.
I also have a P2-400 with 128 ram and the V3 3000 and i wouldnt even
think of upgrading ONLY 200 more mhz. Im waiting for a while so my
next upgrade will be the 1Ghz :)
It's one thing to think your 400 is becoming obsolete, how much longer
do u think the 600 will last? :)

This is because the CPU multiplier is set in the CPU itself and don't
care what jumper settings you use, and since the P2B does 100mhz FSB and
even more depending on the revision you have (mine did 124 mhz on a
400=496 :-), it will run just about any Slot-1 P3, not sure about the
FC-PGA sockets CPU's though, but I think that with the latest "slotket"
adapters you can use those as well
