springs (don't forget to include your postal address).
An installation guide is included, it's easy to install
(with the right tools).
...bye, Niels
i have broken both of the pedal springs and on very short notice i
replaced them with extra whammy bar springs from my fender
stratocaster.
these springs have a loop at one end and a hook on the other. the
loop goes onto the pedal and the hook onto the floor of the pedal unit
i had to use my dremel moto-tool to carve away some of the plastic on
the top of the unit but it works incredibly well and they have both
already lasted 3x as long as the originals.
you should be able to find them at any good guitar shop, they are
cheap and in my opinion work better than the originals. they are also
easier to install than thrustmaster replacement springs

be very smooth
Hey!
I've had the spring break and figured I'd fix it permanently. I
replaced the stock one with a pull type spring. Got one at Home Depot
(about 4" long), it's softer than the original but it's nicer on the
ankle after a while. Pull the top off, drill a hole in the pedal
shaft for one end and drill another hole in the base-plate for the
other (a short nut and bolt to put the spring eye around). Make sure
it stretches a bit. Also, flip the top housing over and lay a straight
edge from front to back. You can use this to measure how much
clearance you'll need for the spring's body (so it won't rub inside) I
had to use a Dremel pencil grinder to remove some inner bracing for
the spring's clearance. If you try this and don't quite get it, post a
reply and I'll open mine up for exact measurements (I can't remember
exactly what everything is drilled at, etc.) It seems to work
perfectly, the softer spring is nice for feeling exactly how much
throttle you're giving the car. Regardless, you might think also about
adding a 1.5" x 1.5" strip of wood along the back lip to limit pedal
travel (you can notch it where the pedal hits for a little more
travel) You can also add another strip off wood to the underside of
the platform to elevate the heel end off the floor a bit so you don't
have to fold your feet back against your shins to get off the gas!!
All in all, it's not hard to do this and it makes your setup more
comfortable for long races; do what you've got to do to help
yourself!! Cheat in other words!!!!!! Legally, of course.
Cheers!!
