No you're not missing it, probably it is empty thus no #gpl channel.
I usually check #gpl on undernet, dalnet, efnet, even ircnet. Most of the
time there is no channel there meaning it is empty.
I've managed to meet up with a couple of other racers on undernet a couple
of times, but a lot of the time there is no-one there so I end up creating
the channel myself. Even a couple of times, I've created the channel then
left irc going with the topic saying I'm hosting a race and my IP.
Then I will host a multiplayer race with a long practice and hope someone
happens to drop by the channel and drop in on my race while I am practicing
and working on my setups or improving my track times, most of the time
nothing, but I've managed to host a couple of races with up to 3 people.
I can't wait until VROC is out of beta and we can meet up with more people
to host races with 10-15 people. (vroc is the system being developed by
Alison and John check gpl.gamestats.com for info)
Anyhow keep checking especially undernet, and hopefully VROC will be available
soon, until then we will have to be content with every now and then managing
to race the one or two people you can find to join an online race if you are
lucky.
