NFS2 - problem with controls

by Alan Pengel » Tue, 01 Jul 1997 04:00:00

Hi

I recently bought my son Need For Speed 2. It looks pretty good
but I'm having all sorts of problems with my controls. I use CH
wheel and pedals (which work fine on ICR, GP and Nascar (all 2).
The main problem is the steering. Although I go through all the steps
to calibrate the joystick via Win95, the steering is really jerky
and not realistic (there seems to be a large null zone, and a bias
towards turning left). I can remedy the left bias with the trim - but
this requires having the tab set to maximum (right), which surely
indicates something wrong somewhere.

BTW, the cross hairs in the Win95 calibration window are offset to the
top left hand corner - which probably explains the left trun bias, but
how do I get rid of this?

Many thanks

Alan

Hey, Alan!
I'm having the exact same problem you are only I'm using a T2 wh/ped.
Same pull to the left, calibrating, everything you mentioned. I've
tried every calibrating option, Win95 adapter on and off. Tried
support from EA but they only suggested things I've already tried.
If I find anything, other than a refund, I'll let you know.

Look through the readme file that came with the game. It describes an
alternative way to calibrate joystick or wheel. There is a special
program that is installed with the game that you use. See the readme
file. I had the same problem for way too long.

PS. I would like to find out what the cheat codes are. Is it posted on
the web somewhere?
