properly anymore after replacing my hard disk.
I had 1.2 with the D3D patch and lots of other add-ons working on a GeForce
2MX 32 MB. Running out of hard disk space, I installed a new, bigger, faster
disk as my C: drive, set it up the same as the previous system (Win98SE,
same drivers, etc), and copied the entire Sierra folder to it. Ran GPL, but
it didn't want to change to D3D mode any more. If I select D3D and restart,
it comes back in Software mode again.
I swapped the 2 drives back and checked all settings, including IRQ, I/O and
memory settings of the graphics card: they're exactly the same as when
booting from the new drive. Resolution, color depth, even refresh rate are
the same.
Also tried a fresh install of GPL + 1.2 patch + D3D patch: no go. It doesn't
seem to recognise the graphics card properly, since the GPL startup screen
does not show 'Nvidia Geforce 2MX' in the top left corner as on the old
system.
After one full evening of experimenting, I'm at a loss. The best I got so
far was OpenGL mode, but not as well as it used to run in D3D. Does anyone
have an idea what I'm overlooking?

Theo
