GPL Scrapyard - temporary popup ads (they'd better be...)

Quick note: the Scrapyard site is supposed to have banner adverts.
Currently it has popups. I am *not* happy about this because:

* I specifically chose this host on the promise it would not have popups.
* They then said they would make the popups load behind the page instead of
in front. They don't.
* The popups are supposed to be temporary, but there's no indication
whatever of what "temporary" means.

I really don't want to move the site again, but if these popups stay too
long, I'll have to - they annoy me beyond measure.

I'll give NetCabins their due - the mechanics of runningthe site (FTP etc)
work without a hitch; they don't complain about zipfiles; and (an important
one, this), they actually answer my e-mails. I just feel let down that the
service isn't doing what it said it would.

(NB: yes I know I could pay for a proper domain, but frankly I can't be
bothered, so I probably deserve everything I get... :) )

Even were it not for your popups, I would heartily recommend going to
http://www.webwasher.com and downloading their free (for private,
non-commercial use) proxy filter that identifies banner *and* popup
advertising and keeps them out of your incoming data stream.  Works
with I.E and Netscape.

You'd be surprised how much faster you can browse when not downloading
superfluous ad images...

<snip>

I'm ahead of you there - got it as soon as it was mentioned in
alt.comp.freeware. Sadly, my hosts's T&Cs mean I can't promote it on my
site, but I can - and do - recommend it here!

But does a site like www.bhmotorsports.com still work with this
utility?

Yes. In any case, you can configure WebWasher so that it only filters
out certain sizes of adverts.
