Installing ICR1.02 Patch

by Tim & Amy Bait » Sun, 04 Aug 1996 04:00:00

I am having problems installing the ICR1.00 -> ICR1.02 patch. After it
modifies the drivers2.txt file, I get this error:

error ept0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was
found. No update done since file contents do not match.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

before you do patch.  Running Indycar even once corrupts the
drivers2.txt so that the patch does not recognize it.  Try this and tell
me how it went.

Installing ICR1.02 Patch

If someone else hasn't already answered this (my news server is slow) here
is what I did after receiving the same problem:

Reinstall ICR2 (or better yet, delete and reinstall, realizing that you
will lose any settings files, etc).  Make sure none of the files are marked
read-only (some are, and make sure you check all subdirectories) then
install the patch.

Good luck.

Paul

Thanks, that was it. Much more helpful than the reply I got from
sierra's support (run scandisk, make a boot disk, etc.). It was almost
the same reply I got when I had trouble with another one of their games.

That is Sierra's Tech's answer for everything!  I have followed their
tech support on AOL in the past and this was almost always the first
thing the posted to some poor frustrated owner of their products.

There are 2 patches for the DOS/Win95/Mac version.  One is 1.0.1 ->
1.0.2 and the other fixes an installation problem with the Win95 part.
I assume from the patches in the first that it applies to the Win95 part
also.  Haven't seen any fixes for the Mac version.
