What can I say? I specialize in 'kneejerking' :-) But I'll tell you
what... F1RS is the most fun I've had in a racing sim since
'World Circuit' or 'Indy 500 the Simulation'. That much I'm
sure of. I've done 14 tracks and the game is still strong.
I did a 25% race at Estoril in 25:06.200. Anyone do better?

While I know this will make some scoff, I'm having more fun with CPR
right now than I am with F1RS, though (if you follow my other post I
just wrote) has definitely taught me something about throttle finesse
and steering smoothness. Also, on my system, the D3D performance of
F1RS is very jerky. Its fluid, but has lots of little bumps in the
smoothness which is very annoying. I'm finding far fewer of those in
CPR, and I can actually stand to LISTEN to CPR <G>.

Anyway, (standard disclaimer follows) while I agree with many points
CPR's critics make, I'm having a great deal of fun working on my
road/street course times in CPR, and I'm finally developing the right
touch for brake configuration on it, just as I had to learn the right
touch for the throttle config on F1RS.

Of course, late this week I should be getting a Monster 3D for $75
secondhand and I'll revisit F1RS with it, first thing.

Well, I've been doing a very good job of it lately. I even managed to
***off Andy Hollis. He's rewarding the hanger-ons with a 3DFX patch
for LBG, but us REAL supporters of his work get nothing. I know it's a
technical issue, but still - it rubs me the wrong way. I've decided
I'm not buying anymore sims until they've been on the market for at
least 6 months to a year. I'll be rich! Yahooo!
