Hi all, I am working on a web page for SODA and (if all goes well) will
be posting user created tracks. From what I have found there are two
ways to do it. First option is to select Tracks and then select
remove/exchange from Track Designer then export it will create a .tpk
file that could be zipped and included with a text file with brief
description of track and designer of track. This is the easiest way,
but, do to file size could eat up major web space quickly.
The second way would be to use the .scr file of the track and let
the end user view and decide if they want to render it within track
designer. The .scr files are extremely small and zipped with a text file
could mean very quick uploading and downloading. Doing it this way the
end user would just have to open the .scr file within Track Designer and
if they like the layout and or design they could decide to render it or
not.
One thing I did notice is the AI cars/trucks take what seems forever to
learn a track. The good thing is you can run the track in practice mode
and decide if it's worth it.
I am open to suggestions. For now please just e-mail me zipped .scr
files with a text included in zip. I will let the author know when I
post them and the url of the site.
