I *hate* having redundant directories on my HDD, and GPL has forcibly
installed itself into a \Sierra\ folder.

If I move it, do I have to manually edit the registry?
TIA

Never tried to move GPL out of the Sierra-dir, but GPL is extremelyb
friendly: you can move the thing around without having to reinstall or edit
anything. I even copied GPL from the /Sierra/GPL dir on my Win98-HD to a
/Sierra/GPL dir on my Win2000 HD without problems. But again, never tried to
remove the /sierra dir.

Just backup and try!

You don't *have* to edit the registry... GPL will work fine being moved
manually around.

The only problem is that any third party prog that looks at the registry for
gpl's location will get the old location and you will have to manually enter
the new location.

Editing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sierra OnLine\Setup\GPL\Directory will
fix this slight annoyance.

Pete.
