Dave,
You aren't the only one having problems with lockups with the new OGL
rasterizer!
I've been fighting this ALL weekend. I've done everything up to and
including formatting the drive and reinstalling all the Multi-Boot OS's
(actually, 3 different boots of WinXP Home on the same drive). Took 20 hrs
of my weekend :(
There is no problem with D3D, except for the framerate issue that Papy knows
about. I fixed that by replacing the new D3D Dll with the original from the
CD as recommened on the NR2002 Online Racing welcome page.
This frame rate problem is, in fact, the reason I backed off so much during
the Loudon race towards the end. It cost me 3 positions, but I didn't want
to***anyone up. I started the race at 60fps, and by the time the end
came I was down to the low ***s!
I'm thinking that the new OGL DLL is also bad. I haven't tried replacing it
with the original yet because the old D3D is working ok, and my frame rates
are up in the 70's. Not to mention I can set my refresh to 85hz in dxdiag
and not get a headache! I havent found a reliable refresh rate fix for OGL
since NvRefFix died off :(
But I really prefer OGL. I'm not sure why Papy gave it such back-seat
status in NR2002.
