Slide into pits-get black flag

I may be wrong but I don't remember watching a real race where if a car
gets in an accident and slides into the pits he gets the black flag for it.
This has happened to most every one I've played with. You spin out by the
pits and slide sideways in there and get going again and all of a your
black flagged. What gives???

This occurs because the program sees you as "speeding" on pit road
(although during the spin, you are actually decelerating). Usually
happened to me in N1 at Talladega, where there is no pit road, and I'm
going 180 mph spinning through the pits.  This doesn't happen to me in
N2 at Talladega, because they've put a wall between the track and pit
road. Now I just slam into the wall after getting spun out - no black
flag (no hood, no fender, no wheel). It's a minor annoyance to get black
flagged after 1) getting spun out; AND 2) saving the car; AND 3) causing
a caution, and having to wait until the next green flag to answer the
black flag. Oh well!

No, NASCAR doesn't black flag drivers for sliding into the pits, in fact,
they're allowed to drive through the pits over the speed limit to avoid a
wreck. Unfortunately, it's not quite so simple for a program to make that
distinction.
