Ditto, the patch will be done when they announce it's release. Give it a
rest. If you don't like the game then
take it back and exchange it for Duke Nukem or something.........
Sorry but this is old.

I appreciate the fact that there are some "flaws" in the game that need
to be repaired,
but it is a huge improvement over N1 and all will be made right in good
time.

Jim appreciate all the time you spend here, please don't stop!

Here's a list of some of the so-called "minor" bugs in N2, and I know of
some more.. Maybe if you have a 4837 mhz computer, you might not
experience akk the bugs, but all of us aren't rich and spoiled like you
Mr. Barham...

from Dave Sparks' Nascar 2 FAQ at
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Thanks Dave...

BUG LIST
========

- Install corrupts Internet Explorer setup
- Can't load setups with minimal install
- No qualifying setups for some tracks with Windows install
- AI pitting problems at Atlanta after a yellow
- F1 screen doesn't update if F1 is pressed before first lap is
  complete
- Spotter says "Stay low" constantly during pace lap when spotter
  level is set to "Full"
- Spotter stops calling out lap times if you hit the wall just
  before crossing the start/finish line
- Spotter goes crazy after a big wreck, saying "Go low" "Go high"
  constantly
- Spotter gives bogus "Pass the #nn car" message after exiting
  the pits
- LF Camber is off in setup screen when set to 0.0
- Weight distribution is displayed incorrectly after certain
  setup changes
- Frame rate is awful at Martinsville
- Screen options are reset to SVGA before each race
- Noticeable pause coming out of Turn 4 on some tracks
- Dialup player starts inside an AI car in Multiplayer
- Player's car towed off track without warning in Multiplayer
- Dialup player cannot tow properly in Multiplayer
- Dialup player hangs when max opponents set to 38 in Multiplayer
- Dialup player locks up when exiting race in Multiplayer
- Some DSVD modems don't work because baud rate is limited to 19.2
- Get "Can't initialize modem" or "Can't initialize IPX card" when
the MULTI.LST file is not present

There's the bug list, any more ***ings about N2's "very minor" bugs???

That's It??? Wow, I thought from the way guys were talking that there
were alot more bugs than that. Heck, that wouldn't even fill a page on
my note pad. Considering the thousands upon thousands of lines of code
they got in there in addition to the fact that it must work with many
different software and hardware configurations, I'd have to say that
list ain't all that bad for the pre patched version. BTW, Sierra's (or
Microsoft IExplorer's) install problem has been fixed.

I'd like to see a patch and some improvements too, but I must admit that
they have done a great job with auto racing sims so far.

No program is ever finished, ask any programmer. There are always things you
want to add, change, tweak, etc. So crying "I bought an unfinished program" is
true 100% of the time.

Whenever someone in the Quake newsgroups (or in efnet #quake) asks when an
upcoming patch/program/whatever will be released, the standard answer is "two
weeks." So just keep telling yourself you'll see the N2 patch in two weeks, so
when it comes out you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Hmm... I haven't had time to run long races yet. That would bug me too
(if it happened often). Your point is well taken. I had the same problem
with Bill Elliot's Nascar Challenge. It was so frustrating that the game
wasn't worth playing.

Yes, I agree 100% (except the internet is not free for me<G>). I am
sorry if I gave the impression that I thought people shouldn't speak

Yes, it's a free internet, speech-wise, but you don't have to be an
*** about it.  (referring to your response to Richard Walker).

And whether you like it or not, Papyrus does not owe you or anyone
else a patch.  The "unfinished" game was quite finished by any
reasonable standard you wish to apply, ie the ***you get from any
other software manufacturer.  You are, of course, free to demand a
refund as a less than satisfied customer, and it is certainly in
Papyrus' best interest to release a patch, but no one owes you a patch,
and you don't have to be an ***.

Just my $.02.

Hi Marcus,

Your 2 cents are noted.   I tend to disagree that we are not owed a
patch to fix any features of NCR2 that do not match those advertised
or claimed.   Things like the lack of a save game feature have been
left out and have been requested by the users.   No they dont owe us
that feature.

But using ICR2 as an example, before the patch (that took almost 12
months to arrive) the game was unplayable if you wanted to race with
yellow flags on.   That made the game pretty shoddy to me.   It sat on
the shelf.   If we accepted products if they are measured by the worst
***from any other standards .. then we are not getting what we paid
for nor expected.   As you state:

I think the people in this NG sometimes forget how great these
simulations are.   I know nothing about programming and have
admiration for people who can put me in a racing car to race the
circuits of the world.   But an acceptable commercial standard must be
maintained.   Nothing less and nothing more.   You should get what you
were promised.

Sincerely,

Craig

of the comm ports are active.
- no anti-aliasing when using a Rendition-based card
- no print screen option with Rendition-based cards.

AI goes crazy a Tally on the pace lap car lines up beside the pace car
after he does 150 MPH backwards.
After caution comes out lap cars do about 40 MPH around the track blocking
you.
