: Why thanx Dale! We do have our good moments too..haha
:

Yeah, I know... :-)

It just wasn't my cup of tea anymore... maybe I'll lurk r.a.s.f1 for a while
to see if it has changed.

:
: No I haven't but that is my point if I wanted to discuss F1 I would expect
to
: go there not to RAS. I may be out of line but it seems the F1 discussions
kind
: of took over this weekend

Valid point.

I think this group attracts a subset of open wheel racing viewers with a
common interest rather than the melting pot of r.a.s.f1  I personally find a
good mix of sim and racing posts here.  For the most part we're a group of
people with common interests.

Dale.

>Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?

But... I thought people were concerned about NASCAR taking over the
world (Speedvision), not F1.  ;-)

I understand your aggravation.  But...I will contend, that discussing real
racing is very germain to sim-racing.  If we don't understand what real
racing is...and obviously some of us don't...( I didn't say DGF Thom...) How
can we understand what is simulated?  I might as well drop over to
REC.OPENHEART.SURGERIES and begin waxing eloquent on the use of a #3 scapel
for initial incisions.  True the nature of this newsgroup is SIMULATED
racing, but the realworld impacts how we perceive the simulations.  If we
didn't discuss real racing, we wouldn't know that the initial release of
F12k with 7 gear Mindardi's was a bad thing..  We wouldn't know why Winston
cup cars go faster at a 1.5 mile  oval like Atlanta than at a 2.5 oval like
Daytona.
Even such childish topics such as 'Schumi is a cheat' can be beneficial
when discussing AI behaivor.  After all, if you caught up to a Red Car with
a #1 on the nose, do you think he would just pull over....?(sorry bad
example, he did that recently.)
The real world and the sim world are interconnected.  And ....sim racing
fans are often RACING FANS.  If you are not, my condolences.   But, having
recently seen this same thread vs. Nascar I don't think you will be very
sucessful in stemming the conversations.  I do, however, wish you the best
in this and all other endeavors.
Now wasn't that Williams Pit work just AWFUL?

For a genuine F1 group try rec.autos.sport.f1. There's also a moderated
group out there.

Or maybe Bruce could show some self control and not click on the little
"plus" symbol to the left of the ONE SINGLE TOPIC regarding the F1 race at
Hockenheim.

Just Like I managed to pass by the, what, two? topics on speedvision, and
all that NASCAR chest beating after the Daytona race.

Jesus Christ, there are some whining gets in the world.

I happen to sort my messages by unread. Anyhow it is obvious I'm outnumbered
in my sentiment here so I'll just take my ball and go home.

On that note; this Sunday CART, IRL & NASCAR broadcasts overlap. If
you only have TWO TV's VCR's & cable boxes, which two would you tape??
