Trouble with new tracks in NR1999

by Robert Rathbon » Mon, 30 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Well, in my quest to get a full Winston Cup schedule in NR1999, I've copied
Pocono from my N2 installation, and I finally found Daytona at
www.sim-racing.com, but I'm still looking for Indy.  I've probably
overlooked it somewhere, but could somebody point me in the right direction?

Also, I'm having trouble with the Daytona track, similar to the trouble some
others have posted here.  I've run the PitsPatch to update the logos to the
NR1999 graphics palette, but when I click "Race" to go to the track, I get
the "Could not load entire track description" error.  The DEBUG.TXT file
show the error "Unable to open .TRK file."  The only .TRK files in NR1999 or
N2 are in the Trucks directory in NR1999.  Since I was running cars, I'm not
sure why it was looking for a truck file, unless somehow that is a TRacK
file. Daytona works fine under N2, though.  Anybody got any ideas about
what's going on here?

That's exactly what I did, but I'll try it again... Perhaps I screwed
something up...

Trouble with new tracks in NR1999

Ok, I know what I did wrong...  I tried changing the Folder and file names
from Dayton to Daytona (and the same for NDayton).  Apparently there's a
reference to the original name in the .DAT file.  Leaving the folder and
file names as they were works.  Thanks for the help.

Now, does anyone know where I can find Indianapolis Motor Speedway...  Once
I have the Brickyard, I'll have a full Winston Cup season!
