NR1999: Tracks & Seasons

Some questions regarding the use of tracks in Nascar Racing 1999 edition:

a.  I have started a championship season and have run one race at a track
that appear twice on the schedule.  I just found a better version of the
track which I would prefer to run (Daytona).  Can I edit the calendar file
and substitute the new track in place of the old without losing my season?

b.  Is the changes required to make a day race a night race simple (i.e.
modification to the track.txt file), or much harder (i.e. track.dat file)?

Also an observation.  First I have been running Nascar Racing 1999 on a P166
with first generation Monster card.  I have seen alot of posts on here about
the tracks "popping up" ahead as you drive.  I agree, I see this alot also.
Alway passed it off on the age of my system.  Finally got around to pulling
North Wilkesboro over from N2 for use with N99.  Ran a test race, with no
"pop up" effect at all.  Is this common to just the newly re-done tracks of
N99?

Thanks in advance for any input.
