Shift-Work N2003 league?

by John » Sun, 11 May 2003 21:47:44

Hello all;

Just purchased N2003.  I'm enjoying the online races, but am now ready for
the structure and rules that a league offers.  My dilemma is this:  I'm a
shift worker.  I'm guaranteed to work 2 nightshifts on a rotating basis over
the course of a week.  this means that if I work Mon/Tues one week, I will
work Tues/Weds the next....and so on.

I'm looking for a league that does offers some kind of a solution for those
who are unable to make all the races.  Im more than willing to be there when
Im available.

Anyone have any solutions/suggestions.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Each league is different, but most leagues will credit you with last past
when you can't make a race. Granted this will pretty much keep you out of
any type of point championship since it will be a regular type thing for
you. This is usually called a provisional . I'd bet most leagues wouldn't
mind you missing races as long as its known going in.

thanks for the reply MadDawg.

The inability to compete in the overall picture is the very thing that is
stopping me from doing this.  I realize that my options are very limited
here, and ultimately, I may have to bite the bullet and take the
provisionals despite not being able to compete.  I was just hoping there
were other options.

You could try RASCAR. We don't race for points, so there's no fear in
not being in contention for the championship.  We race on Saturdays
at noon eastern.  All we ask is that you practice for the races
you're going to be racing in.

Hi John;

Believe it or not, I just joined Rascar.  You and I have been exchanging
emails.  The format of Rascar is exactly that which attracted me to it in
the first place.  The lack of points is suits my shift structure just fine.
As well, I downloaded some of the race replays and the racing looks just
wonderful. The next race that I can join in on is in mid-june...I anxiously
await that day!
Having said all this, I would like so much to get involved sooner...and
therein lies my difficulty.  The away time crushes my momentum.  From now
until mid-June, I want to be involved in some structured racing.

And btw, thankyou again for sending me the "Darunz" car.  Your league and
another were the only ones who even bothered to reply to me.  That alone is
the reason why I joined Rascar.
