I have a very old (original) disc of GPL.  I'd like to get things going
again but I haven't been able to.  I have XP/SP2 with plenty of memory, etc.
I'm running an ATI 9700 and have a Logitech MOMO wheel with no problems.  I
just don't know where to begin as I know I must have some upgrades to the
program, etc.  Could any of you help me out?  BTW, I'm not a hotshot who
plans on racing via the internet, etc, so noone has to worry.  My reactions
went away many years ago.

Thanks in advance...

I did exactly the same as you a few weeks back.

I downloaded the GPL_2004_Demo which has loads of improved sounds/textures
and also the patches for d3d and OpenGL.  I then installed off the original
CD, copied over bits from the demo (cars and sound).  I also downloaded the
1.2 patch, and the cpufix patch.  All is working hunkydory here.

Just a note to let you know I appreciated your help.  There were some minor
problems in finding the files I needed but I'm now driving again at the
Ring.  No crashes.  We folks in their 70's drive slow.   :-)
