Toca2 + Subwoofer + Prologic = Weird Sounds

by Hombr » Thu, 27 May 1999 04:00:00

Out of the back of my sound card I have a splitter cable that sends
audio in one direction to my Dolby Prologic surround sound amp (with
front and rear speakers) and in the other direction to my PC Works sub
and satellites.

This works really well in most games (eg. F1RS, SCGT, GPL etc) but for
some reason I get VERY strange results in TOCA 2. When I run over a kerb
on the left side of the road I hear the rumble through the sub - but
when I run over a right hand kerb the sub doesn't pick up any of it the
rumble is heard through the rear speakers only. The input to the sub is
a single 1/8" stereo plug so it isn't a case of having a loose wire
somewhere (as far as I can tell, the fact that I am getting any sound at
all indicates that the sub is connected).

Has anyone got any advice?
