Get it here:

This is a historical version of GT Legends running in the enhanced GTR2
engine. Historical in that it simulates the era of 60s touring cars
whereas GT Legends simulates the modern day FIA historic racing series
with modern tyres and of course tracks. A number of variants of models
are added (like a 1300cc Alfa and supercharged version as well as the
standard GTL version).

Cheers

Thanks. Since building my latest PC build I haven't been able to play GTL
because it installs Starforce and I want this PC to stay Starforce clean so
now I will be able to.

Outstanding !

I just raced the AI for two hours at Oulton Park (short) with various
cars (but mostly the Cooper S and the Alfa's) and it comes really close
to the most fun you can proverbially have with your clothes on. Now we
just need the Nordschleife 2007 conversion to GTR2 :)

I really feel like I got a brand new sim out of the blue, including a
gorgeous manual and most importantly cars with a soul, all for free. A
true work of love !

This should definitely come with an ***ion disclaimer.

Regards,
Mr. Sylvestre

<snip>

I preferred GTL above GTR2, the cars were simply way more fun to race,
but after buying a new pc I didn't install GTL again because of
Starforce issues.
It's great to be able to drive those cars with the GTR2 engine and
what a perfect mod it is.

Controlling these beasts and the feeling of racing on the edge reminds
me a lot of a former favorite sim of mine :) Let's hope this mod does
well in the community so we can have some decent online races again.

Thanks for pointing out the manual (in the root dir), I would have
missed that one otherwise :)

Note: You must own/insert the GTL cd during the install.

Cheers

Is it a GTL mod or a GTR 2 mod?

Thanks

GTR2, but it uses content from GTL, hence the need for the GTL CD.

To be honest it is like a whole new sim. The physics are IMHO improved
by using historic tyres and general tweaks, plus the GTR2 engine adds a
lot. For me this is better than both GTL and GTR2 out of the box to be
worth purchasing both if you don't have them. If you have been put off
buying GTL by starforce you don't even need to install GTL.

So, I don't need to own/installed GTR2?
This can be installed without effecting my current GTL installation?
Just don't want to stuff up my current working installation of GTL
Thanks.

It requires and runs in GTR2.

It just needs the GTL CD/DVD to be present during install as it uses the
GTL cars and an agreement has been made between Simbin and the modders.
It won't effect your GTL install.

So you need both GTR2 & GTL to run this.

No doubt some will bulk at this just for a mod. My view is that it
creates a GTL2 given the open nature of the sim allowing for converted
tracks. Added weather, improved FFB, plus the mod adds better sound,
updated graphics and historical physics.

Bear in mind this is the 60s touring cars plus a few others, the GTs and
70s cars will follow.

I have GTL but no GTR2 so I just ordered it used from Amazon... should
have it as I seem  to have every other sim known to man. I'm buying
Race07 also, really like the "feel" of it.

Apparently, you have the opportunity to make a lot of money if you
install starforce. I found this on the starforce site (I wanted to
find out what it was):

"StarForce is announcing world wide contest among users of StarForce
protected applications!!!

There have been a lot of rumors in the Internet concerning DVD/CD
writers malfunction after installation and star-up of StarForce
protected applications. Some have even mentioned that should such
"malfunctioning" drive be placed in any other PC without StarForce
protection installed it will fail to work as well.

In the past year our staff and many of our clients tried restlessly to
reproduce the matter based on these rumors. Using our hardware
collection we assembled systems alike, but such problems never took
place.
Therefore, we have no proven facts of such issues and we have found
out that all of these rumors are false.

We have serious reasons to believe that such problems are pure
fiction.
However, if such problem does exist, it should be repeatable.
Therefore, just to make sure, StarForce decided to have a worldwide
contest among users of StarForce protected applications.

Anyone who can reproduce and demonstrate the mentioned above problem
with CD/DVD drive in our office will receive $10 000.00 US.

You should arrive in our office with your PC or use any of our PCs and
reproduce the problem. "

It depends on what you consider "a lot of money". $10k USD barely covers the
aggravation and travel time and expense. Sure, if they offer too much, it
might motivate some to invent a problem that isn't there just to collect. If
they were really serious, they would fly their engineers out overnight, loan
me a dual quad while they figure out what they botched, *and* chum out some
cash to make it worth my while to allow their fingers anywhere near the
private and sensitive stuff that lives on every PC. Where I'm concerned, 10k
amounts to a cheesy PR gimmick. Recognize it for what it is. They're not
taking this at all seriously.

And how is anyone supposed to prove that Starforce ***ed their
malfunctioning drive and not something else?  All you're going to have
is a drive that doesn't work in your machine and their machine.
Starforce creators aren't going to want to admit it was their software
that killed it now, are they?
