Force feedback in Nascar 4 ?

by Erwa » Fri, 01 Jun 2001 18:43:26

I just try Nascar 4 with my MS FF wheel and i set the force to 90%
but in the line straights, it's like I have no force from my wheel, a little
move from me, and I the car turns a lot left to right.
I feel the steering force when I am in a turn, but nothing in straights ?
IS it normal ?

Is that at Tally and Daytona by any chance ?
I found turning the latency up to about 100 ms in the controller options
and the steering ratio down to about 25:1 in the car set-up helped alot

It ain't normal, but that's the way it is and I've been complaining about
this since N4 came out.

It's at it's worse at Talladega and Daytona.

I run with the FF turned off, but then the inability to trim the wheel
causes very bad left-pull issues.

I've heard this before, and I've tried it.

Unfortunately, at 32:1 I'm already running the track with about 1/2" of
wheel movement.  We need HIGHER ratio's to work with.  I figure 100:1 should
about do it :)

Add in caster to get the FF.  Going to about 16:1 helped me with the wheel
trim.
