comcast only)? You're nearby so I'm curious.

I get up to 400 kbs. 300+ is normal. Of course it depends who I'm
downloading from, but the ceiling is very high.

I've had cable for two years now, and the surprising thing is the download
speeds haven't changed at all.

Yeah, I got it at around 130KB/Sec at 3am last night.

Once I figured out WHICH word to click on!  Don't these folks understand the
color blue?

Is that K bit or K BYTE ?

It's written as K bit, of which 265kbs isn't really super fast.

I suspect they actually mean 265KB/Sec and 325KB/Sec.

The difference between kb/Sec and KB/sec is substantial :)

My download off cable modem was at 130KB/sec, which is 1040kb/sec (of
course)  :)

If the planets are in proper alignment, and there are no sour routers on
Cox's network (rare, indeed), I can see 180KB/Sec downloads which is about
1.5mbit/sec.

Yea...anytime you see Kb, multiple it by 8 to get what itis in KB (8 bits to
a byte...)

Actually, that would be divide kb by 8 to get KB :)

That's ok.  The new math screws with me too :)

>Any particular reason for saying this.  At first glance, the Demo looks
>pretty nice.  Those who expect 100 fps might as well forget it, though some

At this point, I'd be a bit wary about getting the latest incarnation
of N 2002 / 5 (for us old timers).  I'm still steamed about losing the
shift-R function.  I know that it's an old arguement, but not having a
way to fix some dumb AI running over me in T1 after a brilliant
qualifying run is inexcusable.

I guess you haven't checked out the demo, as session restarts are
included.

Hi Eric!!!  Been a long time since NASROC.  No, I haven't.  I lost
high-speed capability when I moved outside of town... :(  The guy
getting hacked up next door didn't force me out.  My car getting hit
while parked didn't force me out.  Not being able to get a parking
spot within a block of my apartment did it...   Guess I'm paying for
it now...
