Seeing that Gamespy is wickedly buggy (apparently), anyone interested in
online Rally Trophy using Kali, ICQ me at 4046944.

Please, no GPLers.  :)

how does Rally Trophy work online?  arcade-race, or normal
rally-stages?

I'd like to see a multiplayer rally-game where people start with the
proper 30-second interval, flip their cars, and get passed by the
other drivers. :)

I'd also like to see a rally-game without that utterly idiotic rule
about having to finish top 6 to continue.

physics aside; how can they call this game a sim when they have
game-rules squarely placed in the arcades?

I remember reading a "10 commandments of game design" kind of article
on gamasutra a while back.  IIRC "thou shalt always apply the same
rules to players and AI" was pretty high on that list.

Yep, it exists.  And seeing that RT has nothing but GameSpy Arcade for
online and LAN, Kali is probably the way to go.  RT is a nice game.  Physics
are excellent (without going into it).  But multiplayer is weak, almost put
in as a second thought, like a little boy buying a candy bar at the checkout
counter.

LOL, great analogy :)

Kali does work and works well.  If there's LAN capability in a game, then
Kali will probably work with the game.  You do get the Kali overhead, so it
is always best to use IP-to-IP, when available.  But RT doesn't have that,
and if I had to choose between Kali and GPA, I'd take Kali.

I'm pretty sure Relay is going to support RT soon.
