I have heard many posts about Papyrus releasing ICR2 under a new name,
can someone please tell me what the difference will be.
Thank You

Do you have any more specifics you can share about the differences
between ICR2/Cart? That is, accurate carset? Some new features or
updates on the basic game?
Thanks
Andre
The main difference is in the name: CART Racing. The release
will include the DOS, Win95, and Rendition versions, but the Mac
was left out of this one I'm afraid. Also included is a Driver's
guide written by former Car & Driver editor Steve Smith.
The game should be released mid to late October.
Cheers!

Papyrus says there won't be any added features (if that's what you
were getting at). It's more or less a repackage of their earlier
release.
You may be wondering "why?"...Papyrus wants it known that they
have no plans on abandoning open-wheel racing... They also
wanted to get the guide out, and what better way then to
re-release the sim. I've got my optimistic fingers crossed for the
future. =)
Cheers!

I think think maybe Papyrus is hoping People will confuse it with CART
Precision Racing? =)
Hehehe.....One thing I dont understand though is...Why would they
"re-release" a game,With people still having to pay $39.99,And only getting
a new name and a track guide?
Well, from what I've seen of Microsoft's upcoming CART Precision Racing, It
seems Papyrus will have to do alot of homework.

The game should retail for $29.95, and I would assume that many
outlets would offer some sort of discount on top of that. From what
I hear, the guide, much more than a typical track-guide as you
indicated, is worth at least 20-bucks. This, coupled with the fact that
it includes Rendition support for those with the 3D-Blaster (or any
Rendition card without the ICR2 bundle) would most certainly
benefit.
Seems like a pretty good deal to me - I'll buy it. =)
Cheers!

If they add networking and a little tighter control for it I'm sold.

% Well even if they didn't, isn't there someone on the net who has

I think you are talking about the process of copying textures from other
enhanced tracks to the non-enhanced. However, there is a project which
should be finished "real soon now" which has painted "new" textures for
all of the non-enhanced tracks. Keep tuned to The Sim Project site for
its release <http://www.members.aol.com/simproject/index.html>.

Really? Even Indianapolis? That would be great! Oh, speaking of Indy
textures, there is a utility to improve the scenery for Indy in NASCAR
2. Will this work for IndyCar 2, or is there one for this game?
-John :|:
If you use the ICR2 track editor which lets you play with the mip files, and
adjust the colours in the NASCAR2 Scenery patches to work in ICR2 (Importing
the proper palette with Paint Shop Pro or a similar program), you can use the
Indy NASCAR 2 Enhanced scenery for the ICR2 version. The mips will work for
either game... just don't try to move the native NASCAR 2 mips into ICR2...
seems NASCAR 2 will accept some backwards compatibility but ICR2 will not
accept forward compatibility.
