Did the official GPL 1.2 patch ever get released? If so, where can I find
it?

And what's worse, 1.1 and 1.2 are not compatable... and Spyboy, the primary
place to find online races, only supports 1.1 because 1.2 is not 'legally'
out.

But wait, there is hope! The beta fix has long since been leaked out and is
compatable with 1.1. My guess is most if not all of the dedicated host
servers on Sypboy are using it because all of the problems created by 1.1
have disappeared...if you also use the beta fix on the client side also.

Sierra is on it's way to setting some kinda of record for poor support....and
for a product which happens to be the best driving sim ever created.
