N2003 cars, tracks, ect.

by Mike Donnelly J » Mon, 03 May 2004 11:19:01

Okay, I recently bought a copy of NASCAR Racing 2003 Season.  What
took me so long?  My current computer is an Athlon 800 with a GeForce
2 Ti200.  So why did I get N2003?  Because my Athlon 3000 GeForce FX
5200 is on the way.

I toured IWCCCARS, and a couple of other 'old' sites, many of which
are now gone.  So, where do I go to get the current crop of Nextel Cup
cars?

I don't want to rain on your parade, but why are you going to cripple
a nice CPU with that video card?

Would my GeForce 2 Ti200 be better to use with that CPU?

If the answer is no, then the reason would be because that's all the
budget would (currently) allow.  Upgrading a video card is easier than
changing out a cpu or cpu/motherboard...

Ive got one in one of my other machines and it isnt all that bad.  Yea it
doesnt compare to my 9700p but for $60 it does just fine.

You sure you don't mean GF3 Ti200? The 5200 will be faster, but not
much.

For the price of that new processor you could have got a XP2500+ and a
worthwhile video card.

No, I mean a GF*2* Ti200.  Yes, my current machine is that old.

Old saying, get the biggest CPU you can get at the moment and upgrade
the rest when you can afford it.

BTW, the topic is places to go to get current cars and such, not my
pick of graphics cards - that's a done deal.

>No, I mean a GF*2* Ti200.  Yes, my current machine is that old.

I only questioned it because I am pretty sure there was never such a
thing as a GF2 Ti200.

That was probably true before 3D acclerators came along. It certainly
isn't true when combing *** with a fast CPU and a bottom of the
range video card.

I remember the GF2 MX, GT, Ultra.  Could you be confusing the t1200 with a
GF3?  Or they re-branded one of the above once the GF3 hit the shelves just
to be consistent.  TI200 low end, TI500 high end?

I did, I didn't see any on the first page. Have you got a specific
link?
