N2003 short tracks....

Has anyone ever made a patch  that would allow us to run a Saturday night race
program on N2003?   Just thought it would be cool to have 25-40 guys turn out
for qualifying then have the top four go to a 4-5 lap Trophy Dash while the
rest could watch.

Then, of course, you would have your Heats (with the software calling those
drivers that qualified)  and then the  B & C mains, last chance main and your
Feature Main of the night.  Would be great to use all short tracks also.   I
would also enjoy the fact that I could watch whatever race I'm not in.

Just a thought....

A while back, I was developing a concept I was calling "Night Train
Express" where there was a series of all the night races in the game,
run back to back each Friday night.  It was a winner-take-all deal,
where the winner of the final race got all the glory for that week.

I wanted to be able to limit each driver to a single basic setup of
their own design across all 4 night races (Bristol, Richmond,
C***te, No-plate Daytona), allowing only adjustments for tape and
wedge and air pressures to balance the car out for weather.  The idea
was to see who could come up with the best "compromise" setup for such
wildly disparate tracks.  I also wanted to be able to specify the
order of the starting grid based on finishing position in the previous
race, and randomly determine the order of the races in each series, so
you'd never know which race is going to be the big payoff, and to
encourage strong efforts throughout.

But of course, there is no way to accomplish much of any of this in
the game, so I put the concept back on the shelf.  Maybe someday...

cheers,
Gerald
