Logitech Formula Force Wheel

I got the kids (and myself) a Logitech formula force feedback wheel
for Christmas, now I can't seem to get my computer to find it.  All
the switches are in place, game port and all, it just won't connect.
I talked to a couple of supporters at Logitech, one that knew less
than I did.  Does anyone know of any tricks I'm missing.  OS is Win
95.

Thanks for any help.

I run mine thru the USB port.  You need the most current version of windows
95 to get USB support.  If that still doesn't work, try looking in your bios
for a enable/disable option for USB and make sure it is turned on.  Of
course, your computer must have a USB port.
I haven't tried it using the game port though.

Hope this helps.

One thing I (and others I've read on this board) have had a problem with is
not following the instructions exactly.  Your first instinct is to plug the
wheel in and then install the software, but this is not the case here, you
need to do just the opposite.  Try to uninstall everything best you can
(drivers, software) and start over, but don't plug the wheel in first.
Install the software first, then after your computer reboots, setup will
continue and then prompt you to turn on the wheel.  At that point plug the
powered on wheel into the USB port.  It should then recognize it correctly.

I assume you've an USB wheel....

You _might_ get it to work with Windows 95 C (OSR 2.1), but I doubt
it. I believe you need Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE to get it to work.
(Logitech says you need Win 95/98 for serial, Win 98 for USB...)

The Logitech uses the Serial Port and USB, Not the Game port.   To use
the USB port you would need win 95 OSR2 or better and a USB port on
your machine . To use the Serial Port, Win 95 should be Okay.
