Joy stick port

I did have a SB AWE gold (isa) setup as not only the sound card but
also the joy stick port.

I currently use the SB live (pci) setup as both the sound and
joystick.

I'm considering placing my SB AWE back in and using the SB live for
the sound and the SB AWE for the joy stick.  I know this would work but
would it be an advantage over using a single card for both sound and
controller as to CPU usage?  I'm looking for every bit of resources I
can.  Sort of like.. before the race do I wax the car to get an
aerodynamic advantage or don't I because it'll add 0.3 pounds to the
weight of the car?

Me too!

Don't!

First, an ISA card may drop your overall system performance (ISA bus
is 8 Mhz, PCI 33 Mhz).

Second, the SB Live!  has a digital gameport, which should give a
smoother reponse.

But of course, you can always try.....it doesn't hurt.

Ah, the famous waxpatch....You know, using this patch online is
considered cheating! The same goes for the BRM Turbo patch, and the
Cooper slick patch. I hope people are sporting enough not to aply
these patches when playing online....

No, I don't use the wax.exe file while online because it would be an
unfair advantage.  But, Since just about everyone uses the "turbo.exe" file
I figure it's not an "UNfair" advantage, so, I've been using the turbo.exe
online.  I was considering using the glue.exe file for tire grip, and the
2Xhp.exe file to double the engine power.  Do you know anything about the
Blow.exe file?  The one where you press a keyboard key and the engine of the
guy in front of you blows up?

Darn, wish you didn't mentioned it. Ian Lake is still puzzled by all
those engine blowups lately.

You do know the file then?  I tried it once but blew the wrong guys motor.  I
blew up the guy behind me.  Damn it.  Wish the instructions on that thing were
wrote out better.

I heard that someone is working on the Warp.exe. where you can warp to the
front with just a key stroke.  Can't wait for that one.  I sure could use it on
some of those VROC races.

Using a PCI card over an ISA card should increase your framerate.
