GP2 and a motion pod

I am trying to connect a motion pod to GP2.
For this to work I need to know the car's position and orientation in
each frame.

My idea: When running in 2 player mode via a serial cable, each machine
must be sending the other machine the data which I need. If I intercept
this data, I can use it to drive the motion pos.

If anyone knows the protocol which GP2 uses to transmit this data down
the serial link I would love to know!

Is there any other way I can get this data out of GP2?

Cheers,
Chris Setchell.

There is a GP2link program that allows multiplayer over IPX.  You could
just capture the IPX packets with another PC running snooping software.  I
don't know how to interpret the details of the packet however, in terms of
car positioning and such.
