I realize it's not an auto sim, but it's an arcade racer. How is it?

I have tried this "SIM". The physics model is all wrong. REAL pod racers are
so much easier to control. It ruined the entire experience for me, I was
hoping for an accurate simulation experience. Perhaps these problems will be
fixed in the future with the required patch.

Save your money.

It's not a sim and it's a boring arcade racer.

I tried it in the store today. It felt a lot like Pod. Pretty nice
"otherworld" type graphics. It says it has FF support but they only
had a regular joystick hooked up.

I love it.  It's incredible.  I don't know why people think otherwise,
especially the guy who said "The physics are wrong, not like Real pod
racing".  UH hello in what Universe have you seen Pod races ?

Did you saw the movie to judge  yourself on how they control ? It's very
similar, and the sensation is the same as in the movie.  The track variety
is great, the AI excellent.  The controls are good, not incredible but I
like the option to taunt the others ;-D  .  There is a nice career section
where you really need to think about what upgrade you have to take.  The
graphics are great on the PC.  The 64 is limited for that, unfortunately
Get the PC version if you can.  It's fast. WAY fast.

It's a EXCELLENT arcade racer. One of the best on the market.  Wipeout XL in
10times better.  Heck and it's Star Wars.  What can you say more ?

It's very ***ive also.
