MOMO Wingman Profiler trouble

by Jone Tytlandsvi » Tue, 08 Oct 2002 22:48:09

The Logitech Wingman Profiler says there is no supported controller
installed and refuses to run.
OS is XP Pro.
What I did:

Attached my new MOMO to the USB.
Downloaded and installed the latest version (4,20?).
Everything was fine, I tested all my sim's, but unfortunately I fiddled
around with some other settings.
When I reboot, XP won't run and I have to use "last known good command".
XP comes up, but the driver for the MOMO is not there.
When I remove and reinstall the Wingman Profiler, no driver for the wheel is
installed.
I installed one manually, but how can I make sure this is the latest
version?

So the wheel works, but I can't use the Wingman Profiler.

My guess:

The downloaded exe containing the Wingman Profiler probably also contains an
updated driver, but it's not getting installed automatically like it was the
first time. When I ask XP to search for a driver, it uses the one that came
with XP. How can I install the new one manually?

And should I tweak something with DXtweak? I think I read something about
removing the center dead zone. Will DXTweak run on XP?

Regards,

Jone

Not sure if this is your problem, but I have heard of similar problems from
doing this incorrectly.

Make sure you remove the wheel from the USB port, then install the software,
then plug in the wheel when prompted.

The software only updates the driver for devices that are not connected
initially, but connected when instructed.  It will not update the drivers
for one that is already plugged into the PC before installing the latest
software.
