Just phoned our local "Game" store in Belfast.

Last week they were quoting the 11th July.

Today they say they've received another fax and release has been put
back again (what a surprise) to 19th July.

...we live in hope...

BTW did "Bigvern" go to school in Lisburn??

I spoke to Microprose today, told them I was the account manager for
PC World in N.I. ( which is true ) and could they give me a definite
release date and no bullshit. I was passed over to the retail sales
manager who assured me that it was starting to be duplicated today and
that it would definitely be released on Fri 19th July.
HURRAY, the wait is almost over

Hi all,

Sorry for neglecting you all...

I'm sure everyone will welcome the news that Grand Prix 2 mastered at
the weekend! As John previously stated; production is now in full swing
and copies WILL be available for purchase at the British GP.  

I do not know exact release dates for each individual territory but I
would estimate that the German version will be on sale sometime next
week with the English/French/Spanish/Italian and Dutch multi-lingual
version following shortly afterwards.

On behalf of MicroProse, I would like to thank everyone for their
continued support and patience. I hope you all enjoy Grand Prix 2 and
look forward to seeing you at the British Grand Prix !

Ok, I'll try :-)
I don't think we'll get it earlier than you. Maybe he meant one week AFTER
it is released in the UK. The manual will have to be translated, although
they may have done that already. If they do it like F1GP, the game itself
will be in English.
But I could have easily waited two more weeks. I'll write some exams on
1th of August. Until then, I'll sit at my desk thinking "Oh god, you
should learn for your exams and all you can manage is thinking of that
great game which lies there in the shop around the corner just waiting for
YOU! Damn, damn, damn..."

Today (Fri) in Derby Game had a box of GP2 on the counter with a sign
next to it showing the release date as the 19th.

Its out in Wales :) Today 18/7/96 but am leaving alone due to some
very iffy comments about frame rates.
