Thriller 3d problem (slightly off topic)

Anyone getting black marks on screen followed by lockup ? This only
happens once in a while (twice last night) and mostly in netscape
comunicator.My son's pc has a stealth II with the rendition 2100 chip.
He too gets smaller black marks on screen sometimes but rarely locks up.
Still I find it odd that two different PCs with two different rendition
cards have a similar problem.
