Looked at the big site you recommended (from other post). A nice setup
with a big direct drive motor for steering, about the same physical size as
the torque motor built into the sit down cabinet for Hard Drivin' (but
your modern motor makes more torque).
The local University at Buffalo have a similar sized hexapod motion
platform as well as a 3D display (using a head tracker and goggles) but I
don't think their driving simulation looks nearly as good as Racer. I
forgot where their software came from, maybe it's a demo from SGI or
something (they use Silicon Graphics hardware)?
