Someone suggested also that those "Post Checker" wreckum derbys that often
occur are also counted.  Possible I suppose that they count if there are still
players who haven't taken the flag...but ever since I heard that I have made it
a practice to get well out of harms way and avoid all of the silliness....

BY THE WAY.....If I were to have a replay to send to papy with documentation of

came back undeliverable.  The upload is about an hour on my 56k so I don't want
to send to wrong address again.

Thanks

Just curious as to whether you are involved in any of the"Post Race
festivities"??????  Have heard that some of this MAY count towards LPI.   Not
sure but might be a good idea to avoid it.  Also you may have been involved in
something that you were unaware of.....due to bad warp on someones part.
Perhaps the server saw you make contact that you didn't even know happened.
Often a car will warp out for a long time.....the server might see both and you
may see nobody.....if the other party gets punted by you and the server sees
it.....you get another notch in the old LPI belt.

Again I am also inquiring as to the address to send replay to papy of wrecker
documentation.

Thanks

According to what I have read, everything you say makes sense.  You
would have a really high LPI and a 0 rating, assuming no one else
DNF's or goes down many laps.

The odds of not getting involved in an incident in pickup races is
pretty damned low, though, especially on the 0-10 servers or at tracks
that require any sort of braking, which is why I don't really find LPI
meaningful, especially as implemented.

Hi DB,

I don't do any crash feasts after finishing <g> but of course, the warping
could have happened. I tend to have good connects (ADSL), but you never
know.

As for the address, there is no such address for the general public. From
what I understand there are people who are monitoring races, and there are
drivers who got banned. But it isn't done on a complaint-and-replay-checking
basis.

I believe that those incidents count as well.  I blew an engine just as I
crossed the finish line.  The guy drafting me plowed right into my car, my
rating went NEGATIVE from an otherwise clean race.

leave a post on the sierra.com N4 forums.  They may give you an address
there, But I really doubt if they will, they would be FLOODED with replays.
Got any cash to pay the poor sods who would have to muddle through them all?

and then let even the honest accident wrecks happen and
soon you will come from 43rd to 14th or above. fact..lol

| Isn't it true that your rating is also determined by your PERFORMANCE in
the
| races you enter?  How well you finish compared to the skill levels of the
other
| drivers racing, or something like that?  So even if I run a full-length
race
| and finish last, my skill rating will never go up even if I *never* hit
| anything?  So, I guess I have to hope it goes like on VROC - people get
pissed
| and disco, and I move up that way...<G>

N4 - LPI

by REDLINE42 » Wed, 08 Aug 2001 14:28:04

Me? I've given up on trying to get the LPI up.

Last time trying:
Found a 20 lap Daytona race with a 4 rating, looked like a good bunch of
racers,
(Wreakers must have been all safely tucked into their cribs, 4am).

Poled 14th outa 20 or so. Allot of warping,
(Just because the host has "Cable" doesn't mean 20 car race will be warp
free).

No Melee on the first lap, and avoided the 2nd & 3rd lap Hotlapper spins.
By the 5th lap, "Big Wreak" (rest of the hotlappers,,, LOL) went from 14th
to 7th.

Found a good drafting partner and by the 14th lap was in 3rd.
Didn't try to challenge 2nd for rest of the race, because of "The Warp".
I was just happy to be in third, remember this was to get the LPI back up.

On the 20th lap, 1st gets taken out by the 8th place car going out of turn
4,
(Don't know if it was payback for an earlier incident).

2nd and I are 2 seconds behind. 2nd panics and heads for the grass, I go to
the apron,
(Never listen to that Damn Spotter,,, he he).

I get 2nd at the start/finish line .110 behind 1st. 1st comes back up on the
track from grass and swerve's to wall in front of me, comes back down an
clips me, (I'm in the low groove to the right of line slowing). Guess he was
headed for the grass/chat area to thank me for being a good draft partner.

I spin to the grass and in my "What the fook" state, rocket up to the wall
just outside turn one.

Then 6th and 11th place cars get into each other avoiding the original 8th &
1st incident out of turn 4.
Their outta control after start/finish avoiding the winner coming off the
wall and one of them baffo's me in the rear end as I'm getting things
straightened out to head back to the pits. BIG INCIDENT !
(Yea I do things like in the real races, "Head to the pits" when race ends).

That's it, LPI out the window, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. oh
well.

Anyone at Papy wanna see my BS009 or WrongWay1 replays?
