Just thought I'd throw this one out for all who find the AI far too slow to
have fun with.  I've been driving the GT3 M3 in mixed class races and duking it
out with the GT1's.  They'll out-qualify you and are faster in the straights,
but are right there  come race time.  With the AI at max and speed comp off,
this is Much Better!  You can also go to hard compound tires and drop the tire
pressure to reduce your grip further, if needed.  With lower psi in the rears
than the fronts, it's easy to hang the tail out and have fun drifting the
Beemer around.  Give it a try!

Cheers,

Steve B.

Yes, that's a good idea.  But still, why lower your standards just to make the
game fun and meet theirs?  I rather have to increase my preformance to be able
to race them.

I had to lower GPL standards with GPLtweak just to make it fun. Just
like the people complaining that the AI is too easy in SCGT, its just
as bad or worse when the AI pull away in GPL never to be seen again.

Like Steve, I've been racing the BMW against the GT1s and having a
blast. I know its not "realistic" or "sim" like.... but it is FUN!

That is the key to any sim or game.  I played SCGT online Friday and had a
blast.  With all the disconnects with GPL and my slow PC.  Also it does get
old to sit down and practise a 1/2 hour before getting online to race with
GPL.  My time is getting tighter every day.  I just hope SCGT gets the
small stuff fixed.   I love playing it.

Agreed!  I want it to be better AND more difficult as well, and have expanded
on that at length.  I only meant the tip as a way to enjoy the demo NOW.  I
hope and expect the final product will have a number of our concerns sorted
out.  They certainly haven't been shy about soliciting input.  But a peek in
the dat\vehicle.mas file will show you the sort of data being modeled in the
game, and it doesn't require much imagination to see what's achievable there,
whether by original CD, patch, or hack.  So I'm not quite ready to give up on
ISI, or SCGT, yet.

Cheers,

Driving with a joystick because you can't get
the pedals to work doesn't interest me either

Had no trouble with video, sound, or pedals. Worked perfectly
with the same setup I use for Viper Racing. Just installed the
demo, clicked on the .exe and she was fine.

Rich,
You must be using combined pedals which is the default and *only*
configuration the demo or gold version supports.
I hope IMI addresses the lack of split pedal axis *among a few other things*
in their first patch.

Actually it's a TSW with the optional switch which allows that
setup. Same setup is passed from Win98 to Viper, NR1999, and
the SCGT Demo. When I run NR1999 or N2 through DOS I do have
to flip the switch the other way to get the split configuration.
Forgot that the switch wasn't normally part of a system.
