I hope this isn't a stupid question but I was wondering if there is any way
to save a race in progress?  I've set my season to race 50% of the race
length but with all the yellow flags, sometimes takes 3-4 hours!  I can't
seem to find anyway to exit N4 without losing the race in progress.

Am I missing something here or is this option just not available?

Sadly they did not include the option to save in the race. Maybe this will
be fixed in a patch.

It can't be "fixed" because it's *not broken*.

Maybe it could be "added" in a patch then?  It seems kind of silly to be
able to pause the racing action yet not be able to save it.

So is anybody here racing at 100% race length for a season?  I'm guessing a
100% race would take about 6-8 hours!

the problem isn't being a cowboy'd man... the problem is we're not
*really* in a race car, and wives seem to notice this the most... I'm
lucky - I don't have kids!

Those of us with jobs, a wife, kids, other hobbies would like the save
option.  It's kind of nice to be able to practice a long race without having
to sit in front of a 'puter for 3 hours straight.

Not a stupid quesion, and I'm sure it's already been answered - but no, you
cannot save a race in session, only the results from the previous session,
ie qualifying. Only thing you can do if you can't devote the time to a 100%
race, is shorten the race length. I find 40-50% to be about right for me,
and very enjoyable.

Thanks.  That is what I'll have to do but shortening the race kind of takes
some of the realism away because there are fewer pit stops and the pit
strategy is half the fun!

I really hope this gets FIXED in a patch!   ;)

-Tim

P.S. - Darlington took 4 hours 15 minutes last night at 50%!!!  Maybe they
could FIX that AI issue too!

N4 - Saving races in progress

As a bare minimum I would like to be able to save at a yellow flag
just before the game returns to green. This way monkeying with
setups in the middle of a race won't be possible.

Couldn't you pause the action and come back to it later? I realize the PC would
be 'busy' the whole time, but maybe it's better than nothing.

A thought,
Don.

I found a workaround.  I can pause by hitting the Esc key and then ALT-Tab
to minimize N4.  Some games don't like this and will crash but seems to work
fine for N4 so far.  Once minimized, I can pretty much do anything on my
computer except for shutting it down which I don't usually do anyway.

Still would be nice to have a real solution but I can live with this.

I can understand that not everyone has a PC to themselves for whatever they do.
If he has a wife or kids that need the system, someone's SOL...
