T1 or T2 - FRAME RATE

by Sal Vaiarell » Sat, 14 Sep 1996 04:00:00

Hello,

I have a Formula T1 and I'm thinking about getting a new T2.  My
question is besides the Wheel & Pedals, what's the difference between
the two?  Does the T2 have better electronics (pots and stuff) than the
T1?  I have also been experimenting with a CH-Flight stick and my T1
with GP2, ICR-2 & Nascar and I seem to think the T1 TAKES AWAY FROM the
FRAME RATE!  I tested occupany with both and when using the T1 the
processor occupancy went up.  I also seem to see this in ICR-2 &
Nascar.  They just seem to run faster _without_ the T1.  ICR-2 shows
about 2-3 FPS with the T1.  Will a T2 also do this?  I'm running a P166
w/16megs and a Stealth-64 w/2megs DRAM.  The T1 or joystick is plugged
into the SB AWE32 port.  I have no problems with calibration using
either device.

Thanx,

Sal V.

Sal,
I cannot give you a definite answer to this but my guess to this also for
me
interesting question:
If the T1 is analog and the T2 is digital this would explain the
difference.
The newer digital sticks do put less strain on the cpu. (according to a
magazine)

Please let me know your findings. (2-3 fps in gp2 would make it worth for
me to upgrade)
