Does anyone out there have any experience of the Thrustmaster Grand Prix
1 steering wheel. Does it justify its 80 pound price tag.

How do I use the controls on it, am I right in thinking that the paddles
of the back of the wheel where the gear change levers should be are
actually for acceration/brakes, is that a problem using them in
conjunction with the gear change buttons on the front.

Thanks in advance

** I think it sure beats the Thrustmaster T2 for its' price!

** Yes, and they work quite well.  The paddles, for me, are a huge
improvement
over the peddles.

** No, not really.  I found them a little awkward at first, but I got used
to them fast.
I chose to drive for a few hours with an automatic transmission so that I
could get used to the paddles without the shifting.

Dave

Mark,

I paid $80 for my GP1 here in the States, it was worth every penny.
The paddles turn with the steering wheel, if you drive with your
hands in the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions you can use them
just fine.  If you don't, well...?

I have no problem using the paddles and the gear shift buttons
together.  I find that it gives me excellent feel and control of
the car on the track.

In short, the wheel has increased my enjoyment of the game
immensely.  I heartily recommend it!

I have to agree that for me the the GP1 is far better than the T2. I
think that the chances of the springs in the wheel breaking are less
than those in the pedal unit of the T2. For an inexpensive setup it's
great.

I agree, for the price, not a bad wheel.
