SCGT revisited

I played SCGT a long time ago (even completed a championship) but without a
wheel. I'm taking a brief GPL holiday and have reinstalled SCGT.

Two questions:

1. Is there a way to enable split axis pedals? I have a LWFF and it
recognizes brakes but not gas

2. Is there any way to force***pit view on start? I have the view set to
***pit but I still have to F4 twice each time I start.

I've downloaded some sound packs and the adv opt editor - with the wheel and
these fixes this game (sim) is better than I remember it!

Thanks for the help,

Rob

1. Split axis isn't implemented well in SCGT...at least it never worked well
with both my TM NASCAR Pro (analog) and newer TM NASCAR Pro Digital 2.

2. After installing the Official SCGT Patch (v. 1551), you should have an
option in your options->misc settings to start a race in Dash (cockpit) mode

Hope this helps!

It works fine with the Logitech wheels. I've heard that some guys have
to hold either the brake, or the brake and gas down when running the
game for the first time. It's kind of odd though, because I've always
used split axis with SCGT and a Formula Force and never had a problem.

That's weird then - I hold the pedals down and wiggle the wheel when I start
up because I know SCGT sometimes won't find controllers otherwise. (That was
true when I drove with a joystick.)

However, even doing that I can't assign the "Accelerate" function in the
setup screen if my LWFF is set to split axis. But I can assign Brake. I'll
try alternating which pedal I hold down and see if that helps. Maybe one
time I have to hold down gas, then exit and restart holding down brake. And
maybe then once the controller is configured it'll remember my setup. That
would be nice - it's a hassle to have to turn split axis on and off to
alternate between GPL and SCGT.

Thanks for the help.

I never had to wiggle the wheel, and I only had problems with the split
axis
until the official patch.  If you are still having problems..try this
method.
before you even clik on the scgt menuor icon, depress both pedals.  Hold
them both down as you clik and keep them held down all through the loading
process.  When the harddrive finishes and your at the menu's go to the
controller options page.  ONLY THEN release the pedals.
Items to keep in mind.  I use the auto-calibrate function in the control
panel for game controllers--but even so I still move both pedals(& the
wheel) several times and observe that the pedal meters BOTH are operating
independant of each other..   Currently I'm not using the LWFF software.
try shutting that down...you can't assign the buttons but the ingame menus
pretty much cover that.     Good Luck

detecting the split axis pedals is not a problem...the problem is that i don't
get nearly as much braking power with the brake pedal in split axis mode as i
do with it in combined...GPL split axis mode works great :)
