What?...the new N2demo requires a mouse?

Hello,

Sierra, please explain something to us.  Is it fair to those of us who
can't afford mice be given a game that requires mice?  I don't think
so.  I think you have pulled a fast one which was uncalled for.  I mean
sure, I plan on updating my system with a mouse but NOT UNTIL I AM
READY!  Now, to play the demo, I have to rush out and buy a mouse yet I
am not ready to make a buying decision regarding mice as of yet.  I
believe that it does not make good marketing sense to exclude this huge
market from the use of the demo.  Something tells me that us strict
keyboard users are being discriminated against.  NASCAR 1 did not and
continues not to require a mouse, why all of a sudden?  We never got any
preposted message from Adam telling us that we will need a mouse and he
did not mention it on his allgames.com interview.
In speaking for those of us who WERE planning on buying the sim in
November, I think I will pass, unless of course, the shipping version
does not require the extra hardware (and the expense).

I have a strange, gut feeling that this is nothing more than a
silly joke, but here goes...
How can you have gotten by for so long without a mouse? Do you only
use DOS? Even so, many DOS programs and utilities require a mouse. I
don't honestly think that having a mouse is too much to ask of someone.

Well as long as it took you to type that silly little letter
you coulda went out and bought a mouse and already installed it.
their about TEN bucks. If you can't afford that, better not expect
to buy the sim anyway.
Seems to me your just looking for somethin' to gripe about.

<snip>

If you planned to run NCR2, you must have either a fast 486 or a
Pentium/Pentium clone.

In either case, what loser<bsp><bsp><bsp><bsp><bsp>company sold you
that system without a mouse?
All right, MAYBE the mouse you had broke? Maybe YOU never needed a
mouse until now, but the majority of PC users have needed a mouse for
Windows and some DOS apps for years now. (ie Autocad)

I don't think it is unreasonable for them to require a mouse to use
the GRAPHICAL menu screens.
It's not like they required you to have a wheel and pedals which few
can afford, or need for daily PC use.

My 1.44 cents worth.

I didn't see any <g>s in you post so I assume you were serious.  You
must be one cheap bastard to not want to have a mouse on your system.
How can you even have the nerve to post such a stupid message?  Nascar2
won't even run on your 386 pal, so go take a nap and forget the whole
thing.  I think I have a spare mouse around here, would you like me to
send it to you?  Just kidding, I would rather see you have to spend the
$10 to buy one nickle***.

You can get a cheap mouse for $10, probably less if you look hard
enough.  You'd probably spend 5 times that much on a game.

Cheap guys like these don't deserve a game like NASCAR. Get a life, and
maybe upgrade to DOS 2.11 (what does oneself uses in a computer without a
mouse these days??)

Ha ha ha, SUCKERS!!!!!!!!

That was cool!  My original post was nothing more than a spoof of all
those Cyrix owning, 486 and low RAM cheapskate whinners who are a slap
in the face to the hard working developers at Papyrus (pronounced
pap-eye-russ, I learned this while listening to Scott at AGN-thanks
Scott!).  For the same amount of time I see wasted on figuring out how
to add Nitrous oxide to the cpu, shooting up the RAM with steroids, and
other dangerous methods, you could spend that time picking up a few
aluminum cans.  In no time, you would have the cash to upgrade and take
full advantage newer game software.  Question: is it really enough that
the game just barely runs?  Is that all that matters, even if it is very
slow? Another question:  Do you live the rest of your life "half ass"?

Sorry about wasting any bandwidth and download time with this
(should've been humorous) post.

LOL,

CT

This a joke right?
Are you really using Win95 without a mouse??  (how do i know you
are using win95? a post i just read from you where you talk about
going out and buying more ram for win95)
And now your complaining about the expense of buying a mouse?  But
having to have gobs of ram to run win95 is no bother to you at all.

Just thought was highly wierd, and I'm highly bored..i just had to
ask.

Let me get this straight.... You have a demo for a game that you WERE
planning to buy that requires a Pentium, and you have no mouse. No doubt
the game will come on CDROM (assuming you have one), but you have no
mouse. You WERE going to buy the game (about $45?) but not a $15 mouse.
Hmmmm... I wish I had such trivial things to worry about.
