Dave, you're starting to scare me. Were you the author of that TV show on Fox
about how the moon landing was faked as part of a big ***? ;-)
So was this Verstappen acting on his own? Let's think about that .... After a
few years of mediocrity, he was even almost replaced at the beginning of this
year, he finally has a very strong drive in Malaysia. His stock as a driver is
way up. And he would throw this new-found reputation out the window with a
bone-headed stunt like that because he is jealous of a former CART driver?
Or was this team orders from his boss, Tom Walkinshaw? What on earth would he
have to gain? I don't think the sponsors would be too thrilled to have cars
being intentionally removed from the race for such petty reasons.
Or does the *** go deeper, including Bernie Ecclestone and Max Mosley?
They are thrilled that there is new, exciting talent coming into Formula One.
And to top it off, Montoya even has ties to the U.S. because of the fans he won
running CART, a market they are eager to expand. Also, the re-emergence of
Williams as a team to be reckoned with can only help add e***ment to the
series that has been dominated by two teams for a long time.
There have been a lot of crashes this year - Barrichello tangling with
Frentzen at Australia, Villeneuve launching over the back of Ralf at Australia,
Barrichello bumping Ralf at Malaysia, Barrichello rear-ending Ralf at Brazil,
and now Verstappen and Montoya .... Singling out this one as being part of some
clandestine plan just doesn't make any sense.
