ICR2 and MX300

Hi:

I still enjoy playing the Rendition version of ICR2 from time to time,
but I've run into problems since upgrading my sound card to the
Diamond MX300.

When I shut down Win98 and restart in DOS mode, I don't get any sound
(although I've done the auto setup for the soundcard and it works
fine).  I also can't get it to recognize my wheel and pedals.

Anyone got ICR2 to work in DOS with the MX300?  If so, could you post
the appropriate lines from the config.sys and autoexec.bat that you
are using, and any other info that I might need to get it running.

Thanks,

Ian

I just got an MX300 as well, and it works find with Rendition CART in
dos mode.  My autoexec.bat file has the following line, added when I
installed the software for the card.

SET BLASTER=A220 I2 D3 T4
LH C:\WINDOWS\AU30DOS.COM

Also, my dosstart.bat in the \windows directory has this line,

LH AU30DOS.COM

Try that.  (by the way, the 0 after "AU3" is a zero, not the letter).

Good luck,

Alan Nash

Well, I haven't done that, but I run mine straight from Win98.  I made a batch
file to start ICR2, and call it from the start menu.

Open Notepad, type your command line to start ICR2, and save it as indy.bat.
Bring up the Properties box for the batch file, and put these settings on the
following pages:

Program:  close on exit
Memory:   all set to 'auto'
Screen:    full screen
Misc:       uncheck 'allow screen saver'

Since this still runs your DOS program in a 'window' (though it's full-screen),
maybe it'll work for you.

Maybe not though.....

Good luck!

ICR 2 in DOS works OK on my MX300. These lines come from underneath
the line for my Virus canner in my autoexec.bat file-

SET BLASTER = A220 I5 D1 T4
LH C:\WINDOWS\AU30DOS.COM

My config.sys is blank.

Chris

Make sure the following lines are in your autoexec.bat:

SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D3 T4
LH C:\WINDOWS\AU30DOS.COM

Make sure that the speaker output comes from  jack 1  [I had no sound in
DOS mode from jack 2 though it works fine in Win98]

My sys  Abit BX Mobo., Celery 500 Mhz, Rendition AGP 8 Meg,  Win98,
128 SDRAM

I think you have same prob as I had.......plug the speaker into jack 1
and try it.............
