N3/GPL converter and GSB

N3/GPL converter and GSB

I was asked today on Game Spy Boy about converting the N2 tacks for
use with GPL.  I told him that there was a converter.  He replied with
something like, I have to get Dega converted.

Just a bit ago I was thinking about TEN.  30 dega's running, some
with a full field of 24 drivers and other filled with one and two
drivers and a mass of them with mixed numbers of drivers.  And then
there were 2 or 3 other tracks running.  a ratio of 30 to 2 in favor of
Dega. :-(

When N3 is released, and then the converter a bit later,  I can see
what GSB is going to look like..

As much fun as the roundy rounds are for close competition, I think
it's going to be hard as hell to find 20+ drivers to fill any one of the
road courses.  I can also see GPL-GSB becoming a ghost town.  Lets all
pray for a NASCAR-GSB and a separate GPL-GSB.  I'm not entirely sure
this is the way to go...  I just hate to see those fantastic road
courses get swept under the rug.

Yeah, what's the deal with Dega? I never understound why that track was
so popular. You have to run so close to one another. If somebody warps,
it's a crash fest. Plus, when the car is damaged, there's no way you're
gonna be competitive. Might as well quit. Bring on Bristol and the other
short tracks! Driving makes a difference there.

Don't know that I agree, Mike.

I think there are many of us who appreciate road racing (and for that matter
GPL) for it's relative complexity. Those that fall in that category, which I
think includes quite a few North American, and the majority of European and
Aussie GPL drivers, won't be willing to sacrifice that complexity for an
opportunity to turn left in close quarters.

From what I've observed, the oval track craze on VROC suffered a rather
rapid demise. Can't imagine that the addition of more oval tracks will make
that much of a difference with formula car fans.

I like IRP personally.  You really gotta be hooked up there to run good.

Sorry but... I love Spa too much to give it up.
