Mac user help needed for IndyCar II

by Dani » Tue, 05 Feb 2002 01:38:42

I have a simple question: since I upgraded from 8.6 to system 9.1 on my beige
G3/233 desktop, IndyCar II cannot run anymore, it quits quickly after the
"splash screen". Anybody having a clue on a fix? This is the only game I have on
my Mac to take out some stress...

Thanks

Haven't a clue about Macs Daniel.  Try putting a Papyrus or Eric Busch in
the subject line perhaps Eric will pop in with some advice.  2nd, try the
Sierra message forums at their website.  Good luck.

I don't know a lot about Macs, but can't you run an application in a
"compatibility mode" (I know you can run OS 9 apps in OS X by restarting
the Mac in OS mode or something along that line).

Thanks guys, while thinking about it, I had the idea to try to
reinstall it. I'll post a follow-up on that solution...

If I remember correctly if you manually set your screen size to 640X480
and colors down to 256 this problem disappears. You also gain more fps
as an added bonus! :)

If you like driving games supposedly Feral software (www.feral.co.uk)
is porting EA's F1 2000 to the Mac any day now. Check their website for
updates if interested.

Take care.
