Well, after getting the hiding of it's life since November '98, my  MSFF
wheel has now lost the will to carry on. "Use the force", I urged it, but
alas, it remained unmoved, and, unmoving. Everything works fine except the
FF. I ran through the troubleshooter, to no avail, and even I took the
*** apart, but there seemed to be no problem with the internals. Anyone
else had this problem? As it's out of guarantee, If I can't fix it myself,
then I think I'll just buy a new wheel . Suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

I have no suggesgions Ace but it's interesting to see the send post in a
week pertaining to the same subject. I wonder if we MSFF owners are about to
enter Thrustmaster bungee and spring territory!

Sounds like you just don't have POWER to the unit.  Is the green LED
lit?  I could be wrong, I only had an MSFFW for a couple of days a year
ago...  Are you securely attached to the serial port?  Are the properties
for your serial port okay?

Sounds like a built in thing from Microsoft to make you have to turn it in
after the warranty so they can get more $$ out of you! I wouldn't put it
past them to have an autofail feature built it!

P.S. Then again I am a *** nut!

Power supply was OK, and the wheel had power. All connections OK, the port
was fine, I checked it out with some other controllers too, no problems. MS
can add peripherals to the list of things they make badly :-) Shame really,
because it was a nice wheel, and great pedals too.

The same thought entered my mind as well. Well, they can F**k off, this is
my excuse to get an ACT Labs wheel. MS have seen their last penny from me.
(Just watch as they go bankrupt<g>)
